Jill Nash: Women In Trucking Top Women to Watch in 2024

Jill Nash GFL Wins Award

GFL is delighted to announce that our Vice-President, National Accounts and Brokers Jill Nash has been named one of Women In Trucking’s Top Women to Watch in Transportation in 2024.

This accolade recognizes women who are top performers in the trucking and transportation industry, and who go the extra mile to support other women both within their own companies and industry wide. Awardees not only display significant career achievements, but are also actively helping to improve gender diversity across the businesses they work in.

Jill began her career over 20 years ago in the waste industry with a small family-owned regional company in an administrative role. There, she was promoted to national account manager in 2010, leading a department of four. She was the constant while ownership and leadership changed numerous times over the years and around her. Today she is GFL’s vice-president of national accounts and brokers. She has progressed and grown in many different and challenging environments and now leads a dynamic team of 70.

GFL’s remarkable revenue growth under her leadership can be directly linked to her unique ability to develop meaningful relationships with both her customers and her team—many spanning decades. Over the years she has personally developed, fostered and maintained relationships with key people in the industry that have contributed significantly to where GFL is today.

Jill is very passionate about her work and the relationships she has with GFL’s partners and vendors, as well as her entire team.

In the past 12 to 18 months, Jill has led breakthrough success on multiple fronts. Leading interdepartmental efforts, she has developed processes to better analyze and service GFL customers while making it easier for her staff to perform routine functions. Using these tools she has increased revenue capture rates, developed and executed highly effective pricing strategies and improved retention rates. She worked with teams in both the US and Canada to standardize customer agreements, cultivating true growth focused partnerships. Her success reorganizing and reimagining her department in 2022 and 2023 has improved customer service, offered internal opportunities and greatly improved intercompany communication.

Jill’s inclusive leadership has not only set a standard within GFL, but it has also enabled her to advocate for opportunity for all. She has created a diverse team with females in prominent roles and has been a mentor to many women who have grown internally at GFL as well as other organizations.  Rather than be deterred by any challenges she’s faced over the course of her career, Jill has used this as experience to hold the door open for others.

She exemplifies Women In Trucking’s mission to further the employment of women in the transportation industry, while promoting their accomplishments and minimizing the obstacles they face.

Throughout her successful career Jill has accomplished highly and led with great responsibility, passion, and commitment. Her hard work and dedication has created a platform for her to excel and, importantly to her, facilitate opportunities, support and mentorship for others.

Congratulations, Jill!
