Here’s a general list of items we can collect

At GFL, we recognize that capturing and recycling organic waste materials is an essential part of long-term strategies to reuse valuable commodities and reduce the amount of waste going into landfills.

As such, we highly encourage our customers to recycle as much of their organic waste as possible by disposing of material in their designated organic waste container.

It’s important to note that accepted materials do vary by location and facility, and your local GFL branch can advise you of what can and can’t be included in your organic waste container. Below is a general list of accepted items, but please be sure to double check with your branch to keep your organic waste stream free of contaminants.

The following items are generally accepted in organic waste containers:

  • Nuts and seeds
