Odor

Eagle Point Landfill continues to execute our odor monitoring program that includes routine checks for odor at predetermined locations within the landfill property and the surrounding Community.

We are maintaining our focus on controlling landfill odor sources and not allowing odors offsite. Please contact the EPLF General Manager, Scott Mann ([email protected]) or the County if you do experience odor that may be coming from the Landfill.

Activities completed in January – March 2026.

  • The facility is placing “fluff” waste in new Cell 18, while placing other waste in Cells 5, 6, 7, 10,11 and 12A.
  • The facility will continue to perform repairs and remediation that optimize the gas and liquid collection system.
  • A plan is being developed to install new vacuum lines at the top of landfill once all waste placement moves to the new Cell 18. This plan will restore decreasing vacuum to approximately 20 extraction points. This work is in progress.

Upcoming activities in April/May 2026

  • The facility will continue to perform repairs that optimize the performance of the gas and liquid collection systems.
  • The facility will be moving the working face from the top of landfill to new Cell 18.
  • The landfill will undergo additional construction to improve the gas and liquid collection systems as needed. New 24-inch Vacuum headers will be installed around the new Cell 18, and a 36-inch header will be installed to the future Flare location at the Upcoming Renewable Natural Gas Plant.
