GFL’s Full Circle Project inspires the spirit of giving

‘Tis the time of year for giving and employees at GFL’s corporate headquarters in Vaughan, Ontario and Raleigh, North Carolina recently gave generously of their time at two special Full Circle Project (FCP) events.

Vaughan provides for pets

For pet families who are going through tough times, it can be hard to provide their pet with the essentials they need. To address this need, the Vaughan team held a drive for new pet supplies, followed by a Pawsitive Packing Day to benefit the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society.

The Vaughan employees generously donated a wide variety of new pet supplies including collars, leashes, food, toys, waterproof mats and pet beds, dog boots and winter coats for pets.

Pawsitive Packing Day was held on December 4. Eleven volunteers packed donations into waterproof backpacks, creating 50 pet care packages that the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society will distribute to people and pets in need.

GFL proudly supports the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society through FCP and donated $10,000 towards Pawsitive Packing Day.

Raleigh wraps women in warmth

For women who are experiencing homelessness, colder weather can make it difficult to stay warm when they may not have the essentials they need. To help meet this need, the Raleigh Office participated in the Wrap Women in Warmth collection drive and held a blanket-making event to benefit The Women’s Center of Wake County.

Raleigh employees filled three large bins with a variety of warm clothing, footwear, gently used backpacks and luggage, along with cleaning supplies.

A blanket-making event was also held on December 10. Twenty enthusiastic volunteers made 11 blankets that were donated to The Women’s Center, along with the donated items, to help wrap women in warmth.

GFL proudly supports The Women’s Center of Wake County through FCP and donated $5,000 towards the blanket-making event.

Thank you to our Vaughan and Raleigh employees who shared the warmth of the holiday season in their communities through participating in Full Circle Projects!
