Many businesses choose to recycle cardboard independently of other materials because having a separate container for large volumes of items such as shipping boxes is significantly cheaper and more sustainable than disposing of them in a regular dumpster.

Cardboard recycling guidelines
Whatever style of dumpster you have, it’s essential that you break down cardboard boxes before recycling them. Large, in-tact boxes cannot be bailed and are considered contamination. Please follow the simple guidelines below to ensure you get the most out of your recycling plan:
- All boxes must be flattened before recycling. You can leave tape and labels on the box, and we’ll remove them at our facilities.
- We can’t recycle wet cardboard, so please keep your cardboard dry by immediately placing it in the closed-topped recycling dumpster.
- Any cardboard with grease contamination can’t be recycled, so avoid putting items like pizza boxes in your dumpster.
