At GFL, we’re proud to deliver quality, local service to communities across North America. Taking care of the neighborhoods we serve—and giving back whenever we can—has always been at the core of what we do.
That’s why we created the Full Circle Project (FCP), a charitable giving program that puts our customers in the driver’s seat.
As a GFL customer, you can vote for the types of charities you’d like us to support using your MyAccount. With FCP, we ensure our charitable efforts make a real difference by focusing on the local causes that matter most to you.
We focus on partnering with local charities that have a genuine impact. We don’t just write checks — we build lasting relationships. GFL employees regularly volunteer their time, extending our commitment beyond financial support to help strengthen the communities where we live and work.
Our charities are grouped into seven categories which you can explore below. This helps you pick the area where you’d like to see our funds make the biggest impact.
Best of all, participation in FCP is completely free for GFL customers. You can quickly and easily vote online for your preferred charity category—and even suggest specific local charities to receive donations. GFL allocates donations based on the percentage of votes each category receives.
Volunteering is a key part of FCP. GFL facilitates opportunities for employees to give their time, extending our support beyond monetary contributions.
To submit your vote, simply log in to your My Account.
The best part of FCP is that GFL customers can participate at no cost. You can vote for your preferred charity class online quickly and easily, and also suggest individual charities in your area to receive donations.

Polk County Special Olympics provides training opportunities and competition in various Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. GFL has been a proud sponsor for several years, with the most recent donation of $10,000. This donation helps provide rides, food, and activities for all participants. GFL’s Grady Road Landfill employees in Rockmart, Georgia, volunteered their time for the event by working at stations and helping participants.

“Providing critical care, anywhere” is what guides the STARS organization, based in Calgary, Alberta. Starting out with a single helicopter, to now having a network of highly skilled professionals providing care in the air, on the ground, or virtually, STARS has become a beacon of hope for patients in rural, remote and Indigenous communities, who are often facing a worst- case scenario. STARS has been built and supported by the community. GFL was thrilled to contribute to their cause with a $10,000 donation and by serving as volunteer sponsors of the annual STARS and Spurs Gala, which raises funds to support STARS and its critical services across Western Canada.
– Toronto, ON
Toronto and Region Conservation Foundation protects, conserves, and restores natural resources by collaborating with communities, businesses, and likeminded organizations to increase conservation funding, support specific campaigns, and promote environmentally conscious practices. GFL donated $5,000 to support the charity’s conservation programs. Our Vaughan, Ontario Employee Sustainability Committee also volunteered by planting over 100 trees and shrubs.
– Kalkaska, MI
Power Book Bags are making a meaningful difference by enriching children’s experiences with language, literacy, and human connection. These tools help kids better understand themselves, communicate more effectively, and engage with the world around them. In Kalkaska, MI, our GFL team pitched in to assemble Power Book Bags ahead of the back-to-school season. A Power Book Bags volunteer teamed up with GFL to create an audiobook for employees with limited reading skills, showing their shared commitment to inclusivity. As part of our ongoing efforts to uplift and educate young community members, GFL’s Full Circle Project proudly donated $5,000 to support Power Book Bags’ mission.
– Ocala, FL
Based in Florida, Endangered Animal Rescue Sanctuary (EARS) provides a safe haven for previously malnourished, abused, abandoned big cats and other domestic and exotic animals. The shelter provides these animals with a natural habitat, great nutrition, and the health care needed to thrive in a stress-free environment for the rest of their lives. A $9,000 donation was made towards the fence post upgrade compliance project. This will open additional areas not currently open for the cats, so that they can roam free, as well as adding 10 years of enclosure compliance.
Local GFL employees from Ocala, Florida, volunteered over 80 hours at the charity, setting up fence posts in the ground, painting a new bathroom facility, and completing landscape work. To get the latest news on FCP, check out our news page.
