GFL sponsors 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship

GFL Environmental is excited to be named as the title sponsor for the 2024 U SPORTS Women’s Hockey Championship.

The announcement took place at the University of Saskatchewan’s Merlis Belsher Place ice complex, which will host the tournament next March.

“GFL is extremely proud to support this event,” said GFL District Manager Tyler Gore.  “We see this as an excellent way to help support women in sport and help empower future generations within the community.”

With the theme of ‘See them, Be them’, the tournament aims to amplify women's sport locally and nationally and to drive a pathway to confidence and success for young female athletes.

The event is an opportunity for GFL to show our support for diversity and inclusion in sports while giving back to our community through local sponsorship.

“With our focus on people and local giving key to our company culture, this sponsorship felt like a great fit for GFL,” said Gore. “We are looking forward to bringing the hockey community together to celebrate and cheer on our young athletes as they compete for a national title at a world-class facility.”
