GFL executive Ted Manziaris honored with outstanding community service award


YORKTOWN, ON, May 6, 2021 - GFL Environmental (“GFL”) Senior Vice-President Ted Manziaris is the recipient of the Yorktown Family Services (”YFS”) Humanitarian Award for Community Service and will be guest of honor at the organization’s 21st Annual Tribute Gala taking place virtually on May 6.


“I am truly humbled to receive this extraordinary honor from an organization that does such valuable work in our community,” Manziaris said of the award. “I feel inspired going to work every day for a company like GFL that encourages and supports our family of employees to give back to the neighborhoods we service.”


“Our heartfelt congratulations go to Ted on this well-deserved recognition,” said Patrick Dovigi, GFL founder and CEO. “He is a widely respected and loved member of the Toronto community and our GFL family. His philanthropic efforts have positively impacted the lives of many both here at home and abroad.”


Manziaris is a long-time supporter of YFS, a community organization that serves Toronto’s most vulnerable neighborhoods with rapid access to mental health, crisis prevention and social service programs.
In addition to YFS, Manziaris’s extensive philanthropic contributions include the MLSE foundation, Mount Sinai Hospital’s Women’s Auxiliary and the Hellenic Hope Foundation, and further afield, Helping Hands Jamaica and Habitat for Humanity - Hurricane Katrina Relief.


An esteemed leader in business and philanthropy, Manziaris is the prior recipient of numerous honors including the Queens Golden Jubilee Medal, an honorary Doctorate of Law from Assumption-University of Windsor and the Ontario Ethnic Media Award.
