Residential Trash collection

• Place carts curbside NO later than 6:30AM on collection day.
• Place the GFL trash cart within one foot of the curb, with the arrow facing the street.
• Place trash and recycling cart at least two (2) feet from one another, as well as from objects like mailboxes and parked vehicles.
• The Village of Hartland provides one 96-gallon cart for trash. Additional trash carts may be purchased for an additional annual fee.
• Extra trash/bags outside the cart will not be collected.
• Trash/recycling carts not out at time of service, return service fee is $25.

Recycling Collection

• Place carts curbside by 6:30AM every other collection week.
• The Village of Hartland provides one 96-gallon cart for recycling. Additional recycling carts may be purchased for an additional annual fee.
• Place the GFL recycling cart within one foot of the curb, with the arrow facing the street. Place trash and recycling cart at least two (2) feet from one another, as well as from objects like mailboxes and parked vehicles.
• All items must be placed inside the cart. Extras outside of the cart will not be collected.
• Trash/recycling carts not out at time of service, return service fee is $25.

Accepted Recycling Materials:

• Paper products
• All paper/fiber products (junk mail, newspaper, magazines, phone books)
• Clean and empty beverage cartons
• Plastic containers
• Metal containers
• Aluminum containers
• Steel and tin cans

Christmas Tree Collection Program

• Trees must be called in to be scheduled and paid for before collection, no refunds.
• Call in before 1/22/24 to schedule for pick up for the week of 1/22/24, for $50/Tree.
• Call in before 2/5/24 to schedule for pick up for the week of 2/5/24, for $65/Tree.
• Trees will need to be out at the curb for collection.
• Trees cannot be bagged, and they need to be stripped of ornaments and lights.
• Trees need to be cut down to 5 feet or under and dug out of the snow if we have any.
