GFL Environmental receives CN Rail’s Safe Handling Award 

Congratulations to our Environmental Services Division on receiving CN Rail’s Safe Handling Award! 

This year commemorates the 30^th anniversary of this prestigious accolade, recognizing providers who load CN freight cars with hazardous materials and adhere to stringent criteria for the secure handling and shipping of regulated products. 

“Receiving this award underscores our team’s steadfast commitment to delivering our services with the utmost safety,” said Brian Hillier, director, EH&S, Liquids, North America. “We take pride in our partnership with CN and prioritize safety as a core value in our daily operations.” 

As a prominent railway operator, CN reliably transports over 300 million tons of natural resources, manufactured products and finished goods throughout North America annually. 

GFL plays a crucial role in managing the logistics of transporting hazardous materials loaded and unloaded onto freight cars, particularly in Western Canada.  

Notably, our teams have executed these tasks with an impeccable record and zero accidental spills.
