Community Involvement In Winnipeg, Manitoba
Our team is proud to give back in volunteer hours and local donations to charities that shape the Winnipeg, Manitoba area and make a difference to our local community. Through FCP, our local team contributes to local Winnipeg organizations that affect our lives each and every day. We are proud to say that we have supported organizations such as the Winnipeg Humane Society, Harvest Manitoba, and Kidsport Canada.

Winnipeg Humane Society
The Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) plays a vital role in protecting and caring for animals across Manitoba. The GFL Winnipeg team shares a deep connection to this cause, with many employees being lifelong animal lovers. For one team member, that passion led them to adopt their beloved cat, Twitch, through the WHS adoption program. As part of our Animal Welfare charity class, the team recently volunteered at the Bow Wow Ball, a heartwarming fundraising event supporting animal medical care, adoption services, lost and found programs, and community outreach. In addition to their hands-on involvement, GFL donated $5,000 to help WHS continue its life-changing work.

Harvest Manitoba
Harvest Manitoba plays a crucial role in fighting hunger across the province, collecting and distributing over 12 million pounds of healthy, nutritious food each year to support Manitobans in need. One of their standout initiatives, the Meals2Go program, provides weekend breakfast kits to more than 5,000 students weekly, helping ensure kids start their days with the nutrition they need to learn and grow. Harvest Manitoba also prepares food hampers, offering essential food supplies to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. The GFL Winnipeg team proudly lent their time and hands-on support by assembling and delivering hampers to the community in alignment with our Poverty Reduction charity class initiative.

KidSport Canada
KidSport Canada is a passionate advocate for youth sports, helping local kids access the lifelong benefits that come from playing a season of sports. The GFL Winnipeg team enjoys volunteering and engaging with the organization whenever possible through our Family Wellness charity class, supporting initiatives that keep kids active, off the streets, and making positive choices.
To help sustain these impactful programs, GFL has donated $5,000 toward KidSport’s ongoing services, ensuring more children have the opportunity to play and grow.
