Our Winnipeg North End, MB team is proud to give back in volunteer hours and local donations to charities that shape the Winnipeg North End area and make a difference to our local community. Through the Full Circle Project (FCP), our local team contributes to organizations that better serve where we live and work.
GFL is pleased to support the Winnipeg Humane Society (WHS) through our Full Circle Project. The WHS is dedicated to animal welfare in the province, providing services such as medical care, adoption and community education. GFL donated $5,000 to support the WHS Bow Wow Ball, a fundraising event hosted by the WHS. Our volunteers also took part in facility and yard maintenance for the shelter.
Habitat for Humanity Manitoba provides affordable housing for low-income working families. GFL was proud to support the organization with a donation of $7,500, which went towards building homes for low-income families in Winnipeg. Ten GFL volunteers took part in building housing for Habitat Manitoba, helping achieve the organization’s mission to build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
The Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) is responsible for operating the Assiniboine Park, Zoo & The Leaf, a green oasis offering year-round activities in Winnipeg. As an organization closely aligned with our own sustainability efforts, GFL was pleased to donate $10,000 to the APC, which was directed towards supporting school and group programs. GFL volunteers also participated in the Assiniboine Park clean-up day.
