GFL was delighted to support Cape Fear River Watch in their mission to protect and improve the water quality of the Cape Fear River Basin, one of the largest watersheds in North Carolina. GFL was proud to support the Friends of the Battleship NC with a $2,500 donation. The funds contributed to the restoration of the Battleship North Carolina and supported the Parkway Subaru Battleship NC Half Marathon, one of the oldest half marathons in the South, which brings the Wilmington community together.
The Good Shepherd Center in Wilmington plays a vital role in addressing homelessness by offering food, shelter and support for individuals transitioning to permanent housing. GFL has assisted the charity over the years and was pleased to donate $5,000 to support The Good Shepherd Center’s mission and provide essential resources for their programs. Beyond the monetary donation, our local employees volunteered their time to help with kitchen cleanups, organize food pantries and collect outerwear for the homeless.
