Riverside, Missouri Trash Service Details

Trash carts and recycling bins must be at the curbside no later than 7 a.m. Fridays. To help Friday collections stay on schedule, please follow these simple steps:

  • Trash and recycling carts should be placed within a foot of the curb with the lip of the lid facing the street. Please put bagged trash only in the cart. Materials in the recycling cart must NOT be bagged.
  • Excluded items include yard waste, construction & demolition debris, hazardous waste, oil, paint and chemicals.
  • Place carts two (2) feet from one another and mailboxes, parked cars and other objects.
  • Extra bags should be place beside the cart. Do Not set extra bags on top of the cart.
  • Excess trash bags must be affixed with overage stickers for collection. Overage stickers are available from GFL customer service at a price of $6.50 for a sheet of five stickers. Contact us at 816-380-5595 (press Option 3 for residential service) or kccustomercare@gflenv.com. Overage stickers are also available at Riverside City Hall.

Residential trash is defined as waste material generated through the occupation and operation of a normal household. Excluded items include, but are not limited to, yard waste, construction & demolition debris, hazardous waste, oil, paint and chemicals. Excess trash exceeding the limit may be disposed of by affixing overage tags to bags and placing those bags next to your WCA trash cart. Overage tags are available for purchase at Riverside City Hall.

Bulk Waste & White Goods

Residents may set out properly tagged bulky items at the curb for Friday collection. Bulky item tags are available for $10 each at Riverside City Hall. Each item must be tagged. Bulk items include: couch, chair, dresser, mattress, etc.  Bulk item collection excludes appliances, items containing Freon, and electronics waste items such as televisions and computer monitors. Construction materials will not be collected.

Residents may also schedule a bulky item collection directly with GFL. That service is priced at $50 for up to five items.

Appliances or items not qualified as “bulky items” can be collected for an additional fee. Contact GFL Customer Service by calling 816-380-5595 (Option 3) or at kccustomercare@gflenv.com.
