GFL saddened to confirm fatal injury of employee

GFL is saddened to confirm that one of its employees was fatally injured in an accident at a GFL yard on December 17, 2018. CEO Patrick Dovigi said that the company has been in touch with the employee’s wife, and that he and GFL will endeavour to support the worker’s young family in any way they can. “We are mourning. Our employee’s wife has lost a husband, his two children have lost a father and we have lost a member of our GFL family, and that is never easy. This is another reminder of how precious life is,” Mr. Dovigi said in a message to GFL employees. Grief counsellors have been made available to GFL employees. An investigation into the incident is underway by the Ministry of Labour and GFL. GFL will continue to cooperate fully with the Ministry investigation. Safety remains the first priority at every GFL location.
