Thomaston Bulk Waste Services

Bulk waste includes items that cannot be fit into a bin or a trash bag. Some items included under bulk waste are beds, fridges, freezers, boxes, and furniture. Please note that construction material, paints and liquids are not included in bulk pick up. Bulk waste also does not include yard waste. Do not place the items within 10 feet of any utility pole, power line, mailbox, car, fixtures, plants or other obstacles. Do not place items that will block sidewalks, streets and/or back alley (must not obstruct traffic or pedestrians right of way).

Types of Solid Waste Prohibited

• Hazardous waste of any kind, dirt, rocks, stumps, batteries, liquid waste, radioactive waste, PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls), biomedical waste, tires, paint, acid, asbestos, liquid waste, etc.
• If you hire a contractor to do construction, repairs, demolition or improvement of your home or business, the contractor is responsible for removing debris such as lumber, plaster, roofing, concrete, bricks or similar materials, etc. A roll off container is recommended for use.
• Any tree(s) removed by a contractor must be removed from the property and not left at the curb or back alley. Trees, trunks, stumps, and other debris must be removed by the contractor.
• Appliances containing freon such as refrigerators, freezers or air conditioning units will not be collected unless freon has been removed and labeled by a qualified technician.
