STRATHCONA COUNTY, AB, October 23, 2017 — GFL (Green For Life) Environmental was awarded the Environmental Protection Award by the Sherwood Park & District Chamber of Commerce as part of the 2017 Business Awards held on October 20 in Strathcona County, Alberta.

The award celebrates the work of people and organizations playing an influential role in advocating responsible environmental practices. It also recognizes leaders who have been instrumental in solving challenges to environmental maintenance and protection.

Accepting the award on behalf on GFL, sales manager Matthew Goebel thanked the Chamber of Commerce and acknowledged several factors that have been critical to GFL’s success as an environmental steward in Alberta — primarily the company’s innovative waste sorting plant, organics recycling operations and greenhouse gas reduction related to CNG (compressed natural gas) fleet units and dedicated CNG fuelling station.
